I have a BSc (First Class Honours) and PhD (plus an honorary Doctorate of Science). I was a member of the Social Security Advisory Committee and the Council on Tribunals/Administrative Justice and Tribunals Council (both Secretary of State appointments). I am also a member of the First Tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber). These all involved considerable knowledge and practice of the law so I decided to do a part-time Law degree (First Class).
