Suranga Jayalath

I am a PhD student and I am very keen to continue my career in the world of lecturing and tutoring in law. I enjoy passing on my legal knowledge to other students who are interested in a similar subject. I feel that I can relate to students and provide support to them during their university degree courses. I am very organised and thorough, I like to plan my sessions effectively to ensure that the curriculum is covered without exception and with an element of fun to allow the students to relate to the subject even more. I have a strong passion in teaching law and like to keep up to date in my subject to allow my students to get the full potential of my experiences. I am an effective communicator and I can keep detailed records and logs including lesson plans. I have taught for LLM and have good understanding and experience on the following: delivering lectures, seminars and tutorials; developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in research as per the guidelines set by UK University; assessing students' coursework; setting and marking examinations; supporting students; undertaking personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution's research profile; supervising students' research activities; carrying out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student induction programmes and involvement in committees.
