Judgement for the case Ferdinand v MGN Ltd

Mirror published story about Rio Ferdinand’s affair, with photo of them taken together. Woman and RIO Ferdinand had gone out in public together on numerous occasions. Rio Ferdinand sued. Held:
·       C has reasonable expectation of privacy.
Ø  Fact that C had been reckless by going out in public with woman did not mean he was deprived of this.
·       However Art 10 outweighed Art 8
Ø  C had painted himself as reformed character
Ø  C was candidate for England captaincy
–       And appropriate qualities of England captain was a matter of public interest
·       Thus D entitled to disclosure.
