The UK implemented a bill concerning the ability of EU companies to operate in any EU country under the same conditions as national companies e.g. regarding supply and provision. UK tried to exempt certain companies from an EU directive: ECJ held that (1) it was not up to the UK to decide which companies would and would not be covered by a directive
