AC310: Management Accounting, Financial Management and Organizational Control - Modules 2 (Accounting in Non-Governmental Organisations).

These notes cover the second module of the AC310 Management Accounting course at LSE which covers the following topics:

• Measuring the performance and effectiveness of NGOs

• use of 'business-like' management control and financial management systems

• evaluation of programme efficiency and impact

• accountability to donors and beneficiaries

• role of accounting in 'Northern' vs. 'Southern' NGOs

These notes contain comprehensive reading summaries for 11 assigned readings in word documents including important quotes from the readings. There are also a number of summaries of the lecture slides, a selection of practice essays written by myself and marked at 70%.

For revision purposes, there are a selection of revision sheets which summarize the main ideas of the module, a bibliography containing a list of authors, dates and relevant topic areas to memorise prior to exams, and a syllabus written to ensure you revise all the relevant topics.

Finally, there is a comprehensive list of examination questions selected from past papers at LSE, other institutions or based on potentially important areas.
