These notes contain all the work that I did during the term on the Oxford University module: Intellect and Culture in Victorian Britain. They include extremely detailed notes on these topics:

• University Reform Whig History Art and Aesthetics - John Ruskin and William Morris

• The development of the Science of Society - John Stuart Mill and Herbert Spencer

• Evolution and Charles Darwin

• Religious Change and Secularisation

The notes contain extensive background reading in addition to notes on the relevant original sources. There is a further 84 page document collating all the notes for the various primary source writers for each of these topics.

I did a large amount of work on this module and these notes also include all my final revision for finals. There is, therefore, a 43 page document containing important historiography and facts. Furthermore, there is another document with 73 pages of detailed essay plans.

The notes are all very clearly organised with titles, coloured subheadings and bullet points. All the books that I used are listed prior to their respective notes with full bibliographic information.

These notes and essay plans were all that I used to obtain a First in this module They would be very useful for anyone studying Britain during the Victorian period, especially those interested in Victorian society and culture.
